Earning my iMovie Apple Teacher Badge
This week, I dove into the miraculous world of Apple technology and received my second badge as an Apple Teacher. On the Apple Teacher website, there are many different badges to receive based on different programs that Apple has to offer. I learned more about iMovie and how it works. iMovie can be great for a classroom. It allows teachers and students to create educational and inspiring movies that support learning from videos and pictures all taken with the iPad. From the book, I was able to see ideas and inspiration that Apple supplies to use in my own classroom. In my Family and Consumer Sciences classroom, I think it would be a great assessment of learning to have my students create a short trailer for their food lab. The students in groups of pairs could take turns recording with the iPad then put the clips together using iMovie. As an educator, I could use iMovie to create a video to help demonstrate a project, lab, or activity. Using a iMovie can really help lengthen instructional time in my classroom setting--students won't be getting up to watch a demo that they might not even see. I am very excited to get started using iMovie so that I can implement it in my classroom.
