In Content Area Literacy, we facilitated a "National Conference on Literacy" where we presented a lesson that we created that incorporated Culturally Responsive teaching. CRT allows students to gain different perspectives, views, and opinions of other people. The lesson I created was for a High School Apparel or Fashion class. The lesson is about Pop Culture Impact on Fashion and incorporates cooperative learning, jigsaw, and critical thinking to gain different insights and views of the impacts. This also allows students to share the different opinions they have created. In the lesson, students will read four different types of impacts that they are recognizable to high school students. These examples are Latin America, Cardi B, Kanye West, and Donald Trump. This allows the students to become engaged in the content by having familiar examples.
